Tri-Pack Films Limited hereby announces that its Board of Directors has approved investment in a new Biaxially Oriented Poly Propylene Plant (BOPP) with a capacity of 40,000 metric tons per annum at a budgeted cost of the Project is Rs 5.2 billion. This shall double the combined BOPP production capacity of the company from present 30,000 tons per annum to 70,000 tons per annum.
The above investment demonstrates Tri-Pack Films commitment to ensure it caters to the increased demand of BOPP films in Pakistan and offer faster delivery, better quality, greater convenience and increased flexibility. Whilst this investment will primarily cater to supply to customers in Pakistan thus offering import substitution, it will also export to other countries in the region.
The project shall be financed with a mix of debt and internal cash generation with the start of commercial production targeted during the 2nd half of 2012.
